Do you remember the first time you touched grass? Me neither - but as I watched Lyris touch the grass for the first time in her life - I realized that she didn’t even make a thing of it. Just grabbed it and pulled out a handful - like it was the most natural thing in the world. Then she laughed - her quiet toothless laughter that melts my heart and makes time standstill.
