Summer Wishing

I wish the city would shoot more birds this summer, 

I wish more houses would install guillotine traps to kill off rodents so that they would not run around and gather picnic leftovers, 

I wish more people would become vegetarians before climate change gets out of hand, 

I wish for longer days, 

warmer nights, 

cleaner oceans, 

no more wildfires or hurricanes, 

and I wish to hold your hand,
through all of it.
